Memorable year.
Motorbike accident (I survived). Did the hard work with both physical and mental therapy. Took the kids to Disneyland (fun, even on crutches). Got engaged (finally). Still co-chairing our local school governing body (difficult but rewarding). Did even more boxing.
Work was a whirlwind of projects, some with great outcomes, while also keeping our sites rock solid and blazing fast. Had a blast, again.
Spent a solid amount of time getting to grips with LLMs, especially OpenAI's models. Feel much more able to give a coherent answer about where they are and aren't valuable.
Favourite books: The Ride of a Lifetime by Bob Iger. It has one of those silly modern extra-long titles, but Traffic: Genius, Rivalry, and Delusion in the Billion-Dollar Race to Go Viral by Ben Smith was also good.
Favourite movies: Empire of Light, Scream VI (naturally), Fincher's The Killer, plus Creed III. Also rinsed Mad Men (top five TV?).
Most importantly: in difficult times, chose optimism.
